S.H.I.F.T.
Dream-mode is nice, but it will take more than a dream to get you where you need to go! It’s time to move from imagining what life could be like and begin taking steps to create the life you desire to live. No, it won’t be easy. In fact, it will probably feel very uncomfortable and seem utterly impossible, implausible, and far-fetched at best. But don’t let that stop you!
You’ve got to see it before you see it! No one can see it for you. The vision God has placed in your heart was created to be seen, felt and believed in by you. You can’t expect others to see what you see. God didn’t reveal it to them; He gave it to you!
Now, if the dream feels too big, then it’s just right! It’s supposed to feel bigger than you. It’s supposed to be a little outside your reach. This places you in the perfect position to seek God’s guidance. He has the master plan.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”
You have to understand, it is God who placed the dream inside of you. You must resist the urge to take matters into your own hands and you must also resist the urge to shrink the dream to fit your comfortability. Here’s where your faith kicks in. You’ve been dreaming about it long enough, now it’s time to open your eyes, roll up your sleeves, and get to work!
Realize this: the magnitude of the dream you carry will require that you S.H.I.F.T!
S—SPEAK it until you see it!
H—HEAR and heed God’s voice!
I—IGNORE haters, doubters, disruptors, and distractions!
F—FOCUS your eyes on the destination!
T—TAKE only what you need!
Simply put, this means you will need a new mindset. Stop seeing limitations and start pushing boundaries.
Every day take a step in the direction of your dream.
Be intentional. Mind your words. Be strategic. Invest in your dream.
Pray and pray often.
And may your dreams always speak louder than your fears…
